On Day 9 of Klankfest - the brand new 10 day party-concept in Vooruit from July17th till July 26th - we resolutely leave the beats for what they are and offer the crowd only rock ‘n roll because that’s what Hindu Nights, Date With The Night & Apache stand for.
Hindu Nights has been an undisputed icon in Ghent's nightlife scene since 2007. It is a good old rock ’n roll party that plays the best sixties-tunes and indie-hits for people who want to have a proper wild night out. They have been selling out Vooruit since the very start and transform the venue into sheer madness on each new edition. For the occasion, Hindu Nights will team up with Date With The Night, which also attracts sell-out crowds each month with their rock ’n roll-concept at Sioux just around the corner. Add to these Apache, the best indie bar in Ghent and what you’ll get is ‘the best time & place for all things rock ‘n roll’!
First guests on the line-up are The Whatevers. Longtime friends Dim and Kim started out by combining rock and hip hop. But as the ride got faster, louder and a more interesting, they didn’t mind blending other styles and in a sometimes unorthodox yet very creative and efficient sound-system selection of bangers and classics. In only a short amount of time they got the chance to play a range of memorable gigs at various venues (from small pubs to major festivals such as Pukkelpop, Laundry Day and Tomorrowland). Apart from a jam-packed schedule The Whatevers were also picked up by Studio Brussel to do a tonnage of radio mixes and the duo hosts a very popular range of club-nights called Whatever!
This night will also feature a live-show from Wooly Mammoths, a Brussels based psychedelic pop band. Sun drenched reverb infused rock songs with phased guitars, ethereal keys & soaring vocals anchored by tight bass grooves, driven by explosive drums. A lot of inspiration and five super talented young guns define the sound of Wooly Mammoths and they’ll perfectly fit the bill of this night.
The rest is in the hands of the residents as they know their crowd like no other. Delivering the goods will be HiNDU RADiO & DiLLY BOYS. No introduction needed here. As residents of Hindu Nights and Date With The Night, they’ve been with their crowd all along and know which tune to pull out. And that's what they’re good at. And that's all they do.
The Apache Indians also know how to take a party to the next level. They do it on a weekly basis in Apache, the rock bar that caused a heavy earthquake in the Overpoort by bringing only rock, indie & pop, flavored with some soul and disco to an area filled with commercial dance venues.
Skinny jeans, barrels of beer and shouting along to the best rock ’n roll and indie-classics, it doesn't get any better than this. What we already know, is that this will be another legendary night! You just gotta rock ‘n roll with it …
